Wednesdays are for half days!!

 Wednesday, May 3

The stress level was better today!  Our students are finding their way around the building and figuring out where their classes are. They are also gaining more confidence with asking for help, in French!  Today was indeed a half day of school for students and some of our students had only one class and a study hall.  There was a fair bit of work being done for their BHS classes this morning!

Reports from the math class were that it’s hard, and some of the host students are at the calculus level, where many of ours are not.  There was a bit of an adventure to find a bathroom with some toilet paper (haha) and many students were trying to figure out how to all get to Rouen with their host students for the afternoon. It is such good practice for them to have to communicate with each other, in French and otherwise, as well as to problem-solve. A few students went elsewhere this afternoon - Abbi traveled to Dieppe where there is more American WW2 history, and Etretat where Sophia C went to the home of Maurice LeBlanc, author of the Arsène Lupine series, in addition to seeing the beautiful cliffs.

Only two more sleeps until we say goodbye to France and our wonderful host families!  Here are some pictures from some of the adventures this afternoon.
