Travels daysssssss

Saturday, May 6

The goodbye party was a delicious potluck at school.  Many quiches, pasta salads, cheese, and baguette.  The dessert choices were very exciting for our travelers!

We ate, chatted with family members, checked out the posters made by the 6th graders, and listened to a song performed by Emma and Louane.  It was a lovely evening!

The bus left Elbeuf at 9:00 PM.  Everyone was very emotional while saying goodbye.  The drive to the airport took 2 hours, and we checked into our budget rooms and got a few hours of sleep before the 4:00 AM wake up.

Waiting in Madrid for our long flight home, the junior girls are trying to do hair and nails so that they can go to prom tonight.  They will be exhausted after many hours of traveling, very little sleep, and a 6 hour time change!

Looking forward to seeing our American families soon and also missing our French families!

Friday - Last day in Normandie!!

Friday, May 5

On our last day of school we began at 8:15 for the first class. This was followed by a tour of the street art exhibit by the artist K2Bgraff, who painted portraits of famous women around the city. This visit was organiwed by Mrs Hue just for our group, and several of our students had prepared short presentations about different women who were represented.

We returned in time for recess and more classes before having our long lunch break. Back to class for the afternoon. The goodbye party is at 6:30 PM, and our bus will pick us up from there. This may be our last post from the trip, unless we catch some pics of the weary travel group as we make our way from Elbeuf to Paris to Madrid to Boston to Concord and finally to Canterbury and Belmont!

Some students went to Bérengère's house for a BBQ.
Colza fields are everywhere! So beautiful! Colza is similar to canola and is used for cooking oil.
